Ekim, the infamous industry insider and NeoGAF member has been teasing a new Gears of War 4 limited edition Xbox console for this holiday season. Today he showed it off via Twitter and the console is indeed based on the upcoming Gears of War 4. Have a look for yourself:
And the back…
The console has a similar color scheme to the Gears of War 3 Xbox 360 console but this time the shades of red are more vibrant and then stained with some sort of black wash. There is battle damage – perhaps from the lancer saw in one corner which is a nice match for the similar marks on the upcoming Gears of War 4 Elite controller:
The Gears of War 4 limited edition console includes a 2TB Xbox One S system and the newest controller decorated to match the console. This is the controller that offers improved wireless range and Bluetooth. You also get a download code for the Ultimate Edition of Gears of War 4 which includes the season pass, access to betas for new features and updates, exclusive map packs, bonus skins for characters and weapons and of course, the ability to access the game four days before its official release. That 2TB hard drive will come in hadny as it is estimated that Gears of War 4 will weigh in around 80GB.
Ekim says the system is tentatively priced at $449 USD. The Ultimate Edition game is priced at $99.99 by itself which means the 2TB console with all that flair is about $350 once you take out the cost of the game. That’s not a bad price by any means, especially when you consider the Xbox One S includes an Ultra HD Blu-ray player and HDR support.
