Microsoft really believes in their new line of Windows 10 devices announced earlier this month. The technology company seems to be especially proud of their debut entry into the premium laptop category, the Surface Book. More importantly, Microsoft wants you to like the Surface Book and it is willing to put its money where its mouth is if you have an old laptop you are willing to trade in.
Especially if you have a MacBook Pro. Microsoft will throw down a little more for that.
You can get $300 in credit towards a new Surface Book by trading in a MacBook Pro. Other laptops will fetch a $200 credit. At a starting price of $1,499, the Surface Book is not exactly cheap so any option to cut the price a little is certainly welcome.
The laptop you trade in obviously has to power on. It must be no more than six years old and have a screen size of at least inches and it would have had to cost at least $599 when you originally purchased it. There is no word as ofnthis writing regarding an end date for this promotion but I imagine it will last at least through the holiday shopping season as Microsoft is trying to encourage Mac users to make the leap to Windows 10.
A tip of the hat to Eric Zeman and the good people at Information Week for reporting on this promotion.
