Microsoft has been sending out invitations to a Windows 10 event that will be held in New York City next month. While Microsoft has confirmed that the event will focus on devices powered by the recently released Windows 10 operating system, the company has not specified exactly what will be revealed. I had reported back in July that the Surface Pro 4 was rumored to have a release date sometime this fall and I suspect Microsoft’s new tablet will be announced at the event. An updated Microsoft band and Lumia 950 or 950XL are also rumored to be announced at the press conference.
Don’t expect the Surface Pro 4 to look radically different than its predecessor as Microsoft is committed to keeping the form factor identical to the Surface Pro 3 so that existing accessories will work with the new device. That would not necessarily preclude a higher resolution screen, biometrics and an improved keyboard. There have also been rumors of a new Surface product so I would also not be surprised if Microsoft announced some sort of Surface Pro XL which would be a larger version of the device intended to directly compete with the recently announced Apple iPad Pro. Microsoft could also conceivably announce a Surface Pro Mini.
