Nintendo NX Will be a Mobile Gaming System

Details regarding Nintendo’s mysterious NX console have emerged and it is rumored to be a powerful handheld console that can connect to a docking station for play on home televisions. From an article originally published by Eurogamer, the Nintendo NX will also have detachable controllers on either side of the system which will allow you to play your games while the system is propped on a table or desk with a built-in kickstand and even while it is docked and connected to your home television. The detachable controllers can also be used for two-player games.

I was going to give my thoughts on this but 500-600 words later, I figured it’d be better to have an opinion piece instead. Be on the look out for that. I feel like after my last Nintendo opinion piece, I could balance out the hate with a little love.

Pokémon GO device gets delayed

The Pokémon GO companion device, Pokémon GO Plus, has been delayed. The device gives you the ability to catch Pokémon in Pokémon GO without needing to have your eyes on your phone constantly (you can see how Pokémon GO Plus works right here). The reason for the delay is because of an application update that will optimize the Pokémon Go Plus. Here’s what a Nintendo representative had to say about the delay, per IGN:

The delay is due to the preparations for the Pokémon Go application update in order to optimize Pokémon Go Plus. In order for us to offer new experiences to play Pokémon Go with Pokémon Go Plus with a quality level high enough to satisfy as many people as possible, we decided that it is necessary to take enough time for the completion. We ask for your understanding.

The device was originally scheduled to release at the end of July, but has been pushed back to September.
