The release date and price for State of Decay 2, the upcoming zombie survival game from Undead Labs has been revealed in an article from IGN. The game will release on May 22nd and will come in two versions. The standard version of the game will have an MSRP of $29.99 USD while the Ultimate Edition costs $49.99. It will also be playable on Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service which costs $10 per month.
The State of Decay 2: Ultimate Edition includes early access to the game with the Independence Pack and Daybreak Pack DLC. You will also get a bundled copy of State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition with the Ultimate Edition.
“Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with the State of Decay community and to foster deeper experiences with the franchise,” said Aaron Greenberg, head of Xbox marketing. “We believe State of Decay 2 accomplishes this goal by immersing fans in the ultimate zombie survival fantasy, and we want to give more players the opportunity to join in and experience this unique game.”
State of Decay originally launched in 2013 for the Xbox 360 and went on to become one of the fastest selling titles in the Xbox Live Arcade library. The sequel runs on Unreal Engine 4 and offers co-op gameplay with up to four players.
