Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is heading to consoles in addition to PC and Fatshark now has sign ups open for an upcoming beta. Signing up simply requires entering your e-mail address here for PS4 or here for Xbox One. Fatshark intends on having the beta begin in either March or April of next year.
Much like its predecessor, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a first person action game that takes place in the Warhammer world. While working in teams of four, players will embark on various missions that will bring them face to face with hordes of Skaven ratmen and legions of Chaos warriors that worship the god of pestilence, Nurgle. In addition to new enemies and environments, this sequel adds new classes and progression systems. For more on these new features, see our previous report.
Since our last report on the game, the developer has revealed the details on Sienna’s new classes. As a pyromancer, she has access to powerful spells that excel at taking down tough targets. Those who instead pick the path of a battle wizard will become adept at controlling crowds with large area of effect spells. Should Sienna give in to her magic addiction, she can become an Unchained. This melee-centric class provides her with an armour of flame and a spell that detonates the area around her.
The developer aims to have the game launch on PC in Q1 2018. While the game is also coming to PS4 and Xbox One, they have not announced a target release period yet.
