If you ask SNES fans for the best co-op shooters for that system, only a few would likely mention Wild Guns. That’s a shame as the western/sci-fi mash-up is absolutely one of the hidden gems on the SNES and to this day commands high prices on the retro gaming market.
There is great news for people who want to experience the glory of battling giant robots in the Old West. The remake, Wild Guns Reloaded, is heading to the Nintendo Switch this Spring having already blazed a trail through Steam and the PS4. Check out the announcement via Natsume’s official Twitter account:

A press release from Natsume describes the game in greater detail. “In Wild Guns Reloaded, Annie has tracked down the famed bounty hunter Clint to get revenge on the Kid gang. With eight stages, each with three zones, there’s plenty of bad robots to blast away. With a true arcade game feel, Wild Guns was the first sci-fi western to arrive on home consoles and, to this day, there really isn’t any other game like it!”
Wild Guns Reloaded will offer new features that should appeal to newcomers and grizzled old cowboys alike. The new arcade mode lets you play through the challenging game with unlimited lives. Gamers seeking a challenge should check out the new Boss Rush: Time Attack mode which lets you battle the various bosses while also shooting (pun intended) for the best possible time.
No word as of yet on whether Wild Guns Reloaded will get a physical release or if it will exclusively be available digitally.
