It’s still surreal that we live in a time where one of Nintendo’s most popular franchises has crossed over with a series that many often considered to not work well. Yet, the end result worked greatly. Well, by “end”, we mean sans post-release content. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle may have been released months ago to surprise acclaim and praise, but the folks at Ubisoft are still hard at work on the DLC for the game.
As the newest Nintendo Direct Mini has revealed the next DLC will feature a certain Mario character that, for some mysterious reason hasn’t shown up in the game until now.
As shown here in the reveal trailer, Donkey Kong will swing into action as a new hero in an upcoming story expansion for the game. This news comes at around the same time as the announcement of a Switch port for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
Not much has been detailed beyond Donkey Kong’s inclusion, but now Rabbid Kong’s appearance in Kingdom Battle is a lot less jarring! You can expect this portion of DLC to arrive this spring. If it’s anything like what Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle has already offered, you can expect to have more strategic fun with this batch of content. Players can purchase this DLC individually, with a season pass, or by picking up the Gold Edition. Check out some of the others stories to comet of todays Nintendo Direct.
