Hey there, Mech Maniacs. Piranha Games was nice enough to drop the latest build of the upcoming MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. This is the first new footage since the game’s video reveal last December. As of this writing, there is no specific release date other than Late 2018.
The three-minute video shows new updates to some of the biomes that will be playable at launch. New enemy base structures will force you to rethink an approach and takes a look at various types of weather/terrain you will encounter. I could go into more details but you’ll get the point from watching the video.
The MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries build update footage also details a complete look at the damage that buildings can sustain and the explosions that will result when you blast an enemy helicopter out of the sky. This is pretty important stuff because who doesn’t like breaking stuff and watching it explode!
About MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries:
The first standalone single-player MechWarrior title in development for PC in nearly 15 years, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will feature intense PvE combat in an immersive, career-based Mercenary campaign driven by player choice. The title will also feature extensive modding via Steam Workshop and a co-op mode.
Featuring an advancing timeline starting in the year 3015, players will adopt the role of a green MechWarrior mercenary thrust into combat as the Third Succession War continues to fracture the Inner Sphere; the vast region of colonized space surrounding Earth. Victory, prestige, and profit will not only require skill on the battlefield but in the maintenance and enhancement of your BattleMechs.
