XSEED has announced that they will be bringing another Falcom game to the West. This time the game they are localizing is Zwei II Plus under the name Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection. They will be releasing the game on PC and have a target launch window of summer 2017.
Despite the number in the title, this RPG acts as a standalone experience. The game tells the story of Ragna Valentine, a former biplane pilot and current adventurer, and Alwen von Moonbria, an ousted vampire princess. Together, they seek to reclaim Alwen’s stolen castle and maybe save the world. Their adventure together is a lighthearted tale full of comedy.
Gameplay consists of real time action combat and dungeon exploration with an isometric perspective. Players can swap characters at any time to switch up their abilities. The game also has an interesting experience system that revolves around food. Experience is only gained from eating, but you can exchange multiples of a specific food item for exponentially superior food. This means players have to choose between some extra power now or a lot more later. Of course, as an action-oriented game, patient gamers of sufficient skill should be able to get through at level 1.
XSEED will have more to show for Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection at E3. This will be the company’s first PC-exclusive E3 showcase.
