This weekend I finally had time to finish my Destiny 2 review. The game was released a few weeks ago. Now I just didn’t have enough time with the other games I’m reviewing, a wedding, and my birthday. These two events turned last weekend into something of a blur. So after this work week I had a little more time to play games.
To me, the story in Destiny 2 was pretty damn good when you compared it to the convoluted mess that was vanilla Destiny. This new faction of Cabal really made a mess of the whole thing. Now I have to redo everything with not that much time to do it in. When you compare it to my wife who is self-employed, it looks like I have barely scratched the surface. I did manage to get some quality time in the Crucible this weekend. Now I’m no pro gamer by any means, I think I had a lucky day. I had a moment where the guy I was chasing killed himself, at that moment I though all hope was lost. Until I saw two guys standing up high. They were focused on someone else behind me. I never should have gotten those kills. It was a good moment until that guy killed me.
Now as I was writing about and playing Destiny 2 I took some breaks. During those breaks I was watching a show that I was obsessed with when it was originally released. The American version of The Office is on Netflix and for a time I ignored the urge to watch it. One day after work on the ride home I was able to sit in the back of the work crummy and just relax. With that I thought I would catch up on one of the many Netflix shows I have missed. Maybe I would have watched Ozark, finally joined the rest of the people with Orange in the New Black. No instead I went for something comfortable that I have spent plenty of time watching before.
As I weaved between the constant battle of obtaining a higher light level and wondering at what point will Jim tell Pam he loves her something broke open inside me. Why was I taking a break and not just using my phone to watch the show while I played. That was the moment I realized I was truly thirty-four years old. The younger me would have had three tablets, a phone, laptop, and a tv going all at once.
My light level is sitting at 217 while I’m currently on Season three of The Office. The rest of this week will be devoted to finishing some pending reviews that as the idiot that I’ve become have taken longer then they needed to. So what is the point of the Weekend Warrior you ask? Why did I waste all that time reading about nothing? Well some times we just need to write moments that have happened to us. Hopefully some of you will enjoy it.
