Players looking for an RTS on their Xbox One only have a little longer to wait until Halo Wars 2 is unleashed. Now before this happens players will get a chance to check out the new Blitz Mode. This second beta will begin on January 20th on the Xbox One and Windows 10.

The new Blitz mode in Halo Wars 2 consists of the same style of play that you can expect in your normal RTS, with one added feature: Cards. Blitz adds something unique to the experience. I can’t describe the mode better than the people who have built and played it. This is what Blitz is all about as taken from the Halo Waypoint Blog:
“Your card deck, along with your faction leader, are your greatest resources as you assemble a collection of air, ground and infantry units and seek to out-think and out-maneuver your opponents on the battlefield.”
Players will be able to experience the the mode in 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 on the map “Proving Grounds”. The beta itself will be running from January 20th to the 30th for the Xbox One and Windows 10. If you haven’t yet pre-ordered the game, you still have time to do so. Players that pre-order the Ultimate Edition will be able to play the Halo Wars Definitive Edition.
